Place white base plate until pegs are engaged fully in facebow.
Place vertical orientation bow equidistant on both upper and lower aspects.
Load impression gun with Vanilla Bite material.
Bleed Vanilla Bite and place tip on.
Try in Kois Analyzer for orientation.
Orient vertical aspect of bow with facial midline.
Orient horizontal plate so that it is parallel to the horizon.
Patient must be upright.
Minimum of 3 areas of registration material.
Line up facial midline and seat anteriors first.
Rotate posterior aspect so plate is parallel to horizon and seat.
Let material set.
Hold registration when removing the Kois and snap of maxilla. Reseat registration into tray if it sticks in mouth.
Evaluate and retake if necessary.
Mounting Models on Articulator:
Glue gun and sticks
Room temperature water
Red rope wax
Registration bite plate
Green handled knife or acrylic adjustment handpiece with watermelon bur
Steps to Mounting:
Set up articulator.
Condyles fully seated in fossae.
Centric latch is engaged.
Muscles are attached (rubber band).
Pin is set to red line with acrylic table in place. (Make sure both pin and table are flush with articulator.)
Set up Kois transfer table.
Set Kois mounting table to appropriate height. The goal is to align the maxillary incisal edge or occlusal plane at the universal height inscribed into the pin of your articulator. The maxillary occlusal plane should be parallel to the table top. (Shown in images to the right)
Align on articulator.
Snap bite record into plate and make sure it is fully seated.
Orient maxilla into bite registration. (Red rope wax may be needed in posterior to recreate curve of Spee and stabilize the casts.)
Set up models.
Make sure base of each model is 10 - 15 mm thick.
Index casts (place 3 retention notches) using green handled knife or watermelon bur.
Mount upper model with mounting stone and allow to set.
Remove upper model carefully and articulate upper and lower models in MI. (Ensure blebs are removed from occlusal surface.)
Glue together with glue gun in a few areas. (Make sure casts are dry.)
Mount lower model and allow it to set.
Remove both models from articulator and remove glue. Fill in blebs and voids.
