RPD Insertion Appointment
The clinician should inspect the completed RPD before the insertion appointment, to verify that the workmanship is acceptable. Typical items to check include finish and polish of cast metal and plastic with smooth flush junction at teeth and finish lines, dense quality of processed plastic and appropriate bulk and contour of plastic bases.
Finally, the clasps are adjusted to optimal retention, which is 200-400gm of displacement resistance per clasp. Make sure the patient is able to place and remove the RPD. The patient is instructed in home care and is given follow-up appointments
